Your house is given a rating from A to G, where A is the most energy efficient and G being the least, with the average UK household rating currently a D.
An EPC is now a legal requirement and from October 2011 legislation changes will require the "relevant person" ie Seller or Landlord to secure an EPC within seven days of marketing from the previous twenty eight days.
